2026 sees Salty Dog once again jostle its way to the front of the indie crisp movement with a range of revamped flavours, an enhanced new look and a stunning new addition, FIERY JALAPENO & PAPRIKA  

 

In the world of discerning snacking, the early ‘noughties’ was a watershed moment, when a small clutch of agitating, superior crisp aficionados started making their presence felt, bandying around phrases like hand-cooked, batch-fried and best-in-class ingredients.  This new generation of fine snacking purists had latched onto an underlying state of discontent, that all too often, delis, coffee shops, bars & pubs indie hotels, discerning vending offers and even supermarkets often found themselves shackled to a small number of mass-market providers and their dreary, continuous conveyor belt production ways.

At the heart of this revolution was a NEW tenacious underdog called Salty Dog offering just the right mix of quirky swagger meets full-bodied flavours with extra bite, an unapologetic fine crisp custodian who was saw the scope for a range of crisps that weren’t prepared to be in a side bowl, or a half-hearted afterthought.  This was a guilty-pleasure crisp that paired seamlessly with our favourite tipples or hot beverages, added extra gravitas to any Ploughmans, picnic or mid-morning nibble whilst proving an added wow to any well-stocked snacking fixture!

Roll forward to 2026 and Salty Dog is back with avengeance, even though they never really left.

‘Perhaps it’s fair to suggest that we’d got a little set in our ways,’ muses co-founder Dave Willis. ‘Having carved out a diverse vocal following, a far-reaching retail landscape and an unflinching commitment to flavours with extra zip!  In 2025, a change in our production set-up provided the kick up the backside we’d needed, with a slew of NEW suitors reminding of our brand’s unique cache and retail potential, whilst pointing out that the appetite for heartfelt disruptor brands has never been greater.  The feedback oiled our ambitions (sunflower oiled) to get back on the front foot and introduce ourselves to a new generation of fine crisp enthusiasts, because in these healthier living times, true snackifists only break ranks for something truly memorable!

The NEW, all-singing range will consist of: A classico Prawn Cocktail, a divine Sweet Chilli, an inspiring Ham & Mustard, A British Roast Beef, a timeless Salt & Vinegar and Sea salt and a NEW top dog, fiery Jalapeno & Paprika!
