Abu Bakr Supermarket has introduced an extended selection of products from Bradford-based manufacturer Regal Food Products Group, reflecting a growing trend of Yorkshire businesses supporting one another while meeting rising consumer demand.
The UK snack industry is estimated to be worth around £13.5 billion overall, with savoury snacks — including crisps, nuts and culturally inspired mixes — accounting for approximately £5.4 billion of that figure. Growth in the sector is being driven by at-home entertaining, sporting events, and an increasingly diverse consumer base.
Customers at Abu Bakr can now purchase Regal favourites including Thick Savian, Boondi, Karachi Krunch, Gujarati Mix, Spicy Chicken Peas, Sev Mammra, Punjabi Mix, Balti Mix, Gathia Mix, Flakey Corn Mix and Chilli & Lemon Toasted Corn.

Retailers across West Yorkshire see snack sales surge during major Premier League fixtures, high-profile boxing bouts, and international tournaments, as families and friends gather to watch together.
But the demand stretches far beyond sporting events. Across Yorkshire diverse communities, savoury mixes are staples at weddings, Religious celebrations and engagement parties. Increasingly, these products are also appearing at mainstream house parties and barbecues, reflecting the way global flavours have become part of everyday British life.
Hamza Hussain, Managing Director of Abu Bakr Supermarket, said the expansion reflects both commercial strategy and regional pride.
“Britain’s savoury snack market is worth billions, and we’re seeing strong demand across all communities — whether it’s for football nights, boxing events, weddings or family gatherings,” he said.
“Regal is a proud Yorkshire business with a strong reputation for quality and flavour. By stocking more of their range, we’re supporting a fellow Yorkshire company while giving our customers the variety they’re looking for.”
Regal, headquartered in Bradford, has grown into one of the region’s leading food manufacturers, supplying retailers nationwide. By strengthening supply links within West Yorkshire, the partnership highlights the resilience and collaboration of Yorkshire’s food and retail sectors.
For both businesses, the move is more than just adding new lines to the shelf. It represents confidence in continued consumer spending within the convenience and independent retail sector — particularly in culturally diverse urban areas such as Leeds and Bradford.
In a £5.4 billion market showing no sign of slowing, partnerships rooted within West Yorkshire’s supply chain highlight how Yorkshire businesses are playing a central role in Britain’s evolving FMCG landscape — turning local collaboration into regional growth and national influence.
