That question sits at the centre of the Proactive Food Safety Conference Europe 2026, where practitioners will examine real AI applications alongside the digital infrastructure, traceability and accountability required to make the technology useful in operational environments.
Ferrero Food Safety Manager Ilker Turker will open the AI discussion with a session on real applications, honest limitations and implementation without losing accountability. The programme then moves directly into the data foundations behind predictive quality management and the shift from paper, silos and spreadsheets towards genuine end-to-end digital traceability.
The wider agenda makes clear why that infrastructure matters. AI sits alongside allergen management, recalls, microbiological risks, supply-chain disruption, food fraud and regulatory change - areas where incomplete data or unclear accountability can quickly become operational risk.
For food safety, quality and technical leaders, the conference is designed around implementation rather than abstract technology. Peer-to-peer discussions will also give attendees the opportunity to compare how AI is being used now, including what is not working, under Chatham House rules.
