Rosebank Whisky, recently crowned the home of ‘The World’s Best Whisky’ has appeared in an episode of the new 6.30pm BBC2 quiz celebrity show hosted by Vernon Kay. Each week Do You Know Your Place? heads to a different UK location, quizzing the panel back in the studio on unbelievable stories and challenging questions about each location. The recent episode was set in Falkirk, home of the historic Rosebank Distillery since it was founded in 1840, and featured several other Falkirk landmarks and tourist destinations.

The Falkirk episode can be viewed on BBC iPlayer https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002s70g (with Rosebank appearing on screen about 11:20 into the programme).

Liz Gunn, Rosebank’s Brand Home Head of Marketing and Sales, said:” ‘“We were thrilled when the producers chose to film part of the programme at Rosebank Distillery, and it was a pleasure to welcome the crew and The Traitors star Paul Gorton on site. It’s wonderful to see so many local attractions featured in this episode – a fantastic showcase for Falkirk.”

Paul Gorton is in good company. His Majesty the King and the First Minister of Scotland recently sampled the award-winning Rosebank 31 Year Old bottled at 48.1% ABV, when the monarch visited the Palace of Holyrood House in January.

To celebrate the recently win, the Rosebank team have launched a new tour and tasting called ‘Discover the World’s Best Whisky’. Tickets can be booked on the Rosebank website, and offer a full guided tour of the distillery followed by a tutored tasting of the award-winning Rosebank 31 Year Old. Guests will also be offered a glimpse into the future with a taste of Rosebank aged spirit drawn from a specially selected cask filled since 2023 and a sample of Rosebank New Make Spirit.

The 31YO forms part of the Rosebank Legacy Trilogy, also including a 30 Year Old and 32 Year Old, the final releases drawn from the distillery’s remaining pre-1993 casks and is available to purchase from the distillery.

The programme highlighted other key points of interest for visitors to Falkirk including the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel as well as inviting the celebrities to guess which foods from a selection were native to Falkirk.

The panel of contestants, comprising Nitin Ganatra, Rev Kate Bottley and Gladiator ‘Apollo’ Alex Gray were asked which of three countries consumed the most whisky in the world. Nitin correctly guessed it is India, where nearly 50% of all the world’s whisky is consumed. The overall winner of the Falkirk episode was Rev Kate Bottley.

Vernon Kay said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be fronting Do You Know Your Place? It’s a cracking new quiz that’s all about the people and places we know best. It’s got great banter, brilliant guests, and that classic British competitive streak.”
